Swollen Throat, Restricted Breathing, Painful To Swallow. What Should We Do?
My girlfriend woke up tonight scared because she feels like her swollen throat is restricting her breathing in her sleep. Her voice dropped a lot and she said its super painful to swollow. It has gotten much worse over the coarse of three days. I feel like throat issues may be her only symptoms. What should we do? And what could it be?
Hi thanks for your question
Your girl friend is having swollen throat, difficulty in breathing during sleep and painful deglutition (painful swallow).
All these are symptoms of a condition called as pharyngitis(infection of pharynx)
Since she is having difficulty in breathing, she may be having some degree of laryngitis also.
She needs a course of antibiotics along with decongestant and anti histaminics.
It is better for her to get consultation from a physician.
Hope I answered your question.
