Swollen Uvula With Pain, Treated With Penicillin, Amoxicillin, Salt Water Gargle, Nothing Seem To Work.
Hi - I have had a swollen uvula now for over a month, with the pain radiating into my ear and making it painful when I speak. I was first given a 10 day course of penicillin but that didn t work, so then I was given a 7 day course of amoxicillin. After the pain finally disappeared at the end of the course, 4 days later the pain has returned again. What can I do, I ve been ill for almost a month and it s wearing me down. The doctor tells me to gargle salt water but this isn t having much effect.......
hello. please confirm with your ENT doctor as to whether there is any other swelling/ ulcer/ site of infection in your mouth? you have already taken so many antibiotics and i would also advice you to continue the salt water gargles, you can take pain killers for the pain. please get yourself examined again and let me know, thanks
