Symptom Of Diabetes Deases

Lets say you have a family history of diabetes then how likely is that you get it, my freind has diabetes and his mum and dad both have diabetes. Anyway of your parents do have diabetes does that mean you should cut down on the sweets or is it not inherited

dear
welcome to healthcaremagic
inheritance has become only one of the several reasons, of which most are the so-called lifestyle causes. So I guess the chances of getting diabetes from inheritance as compared to all other reasons are not high now. Genetics have been found to play a significant role in developing type 2 diabetes, though environmental factors have an even stronger influence on whether or not the condition will actually develop in the body. Typically, a family history of type 2 acts as a strong risk factor, so please prevent high sugar diet and dieting.Practice yoga and meditation
Take care thanks

Hi... Diabetes though not an inherited condition, it can run in the family.. Thanks to the gene/HLA that is responsible to it... The chances are pretty high if both the parents have diabetes... Hence it would be safe to reduce the sweets and sugar consumption.. Frequent checking up blood sugars is  advisable....
