Symptoms Of Swine Flu During Pregnancy

My doctor has suggested to use the TAMIFLU, but left the usage to my desicion, looking for information on possible risk for the unborn due to this. Doctor did the flu test which was negative, but as the sympotms are close he prescribed the medicine.

I am surprised how can the doctor prescribe but leave the use to your decision. I have done the same research few weeks back about tamiflu in pregnancy. the company that makes Tamiflu says the drug has nnot been studied well enough in pregnant woemn. Basically that means they dont know what will be effect of the drug on unborm baby, Like many other drug, it is given a pregnancy category C, which means if it is really really necessary for mom's health, it can be given. In your wife's case, since the flu test has come negative, u should probably avoid the drug unless she looks really sick. What r her symptoms like..??

If epidemic of swine flu is there and test is positive then and then it should be given as your wife is pregnant.Otherwise it should be avoided.
Routinely if given to be on safe side is ok but not in pregnancy.
Have second opinion.
