Symptoms Of UTI. Took Emergency Contraceptive Pill After Intercourse. Antibiotics Prescribed. Drug Interaction?

Hi, I was having symptoms of UTI on Wednesday (but at the time i didn't know this) and ended up having 'unprotected sex' on that same day (as the condom split). I went straight to a sex clinic and took the morning after pill (which was still all on the same day- probably 2hrs after). The following day I went to my doctor regarding what I found out was UTI who then prescribed me antibiotics. I didnt get to ask my doctor, but now thinking about it could the antibiotics affect the effectiveness of the morning after pill as well as the fact last month i took the morning after pill after a similar incident?(i have only taken it twice in my life). And also if my period is due under 2 weeks is it likely it would come sooner? Thanks (i'm just very paranoid!)

Hi,
Thanks for writing to us.
Yes, antibiotics may decrease the effect of I-pills.
You should consult a gynaecologist when your period will not come. Now you don't worry because stress also causes delayed period.
Good luck.
Take care.
