Symptoms Of Pregnancy, Had Sex With Condoms. Any Chances Of Pregnancy ?

Hai Doctor, my last lmp was on April 20th. Since yesterday i have vomiting, head ache, etc, feel like i am pregnant. am mother of 2 kids..we had sex on 14th day with condoms..is there any chances of pregnancy..am worried...i dont want baby now as my little girl is 1 yr only and 1st girl is 3yrs 3 months...please answer...

Thanks for asking in Healthcare Magic.

I understand that you have still not missed your period. But you have had intercourse on the 14 th day which is an unsafe period (fertile period) with higher chances for pregnancy. Most post coital pills can work only up to a maximum period of 72 hours (Ulipristal can act up to 5 days), it is ineffective to prevent conception at this stage.The chances of failure rate with condoms is around 10 to 15%.

Although your symptoms of vomiting and headache can be due to other reasons, since you feel that you have signs of pregnancy, you can confirm it through pregnancy tests. Blood test for pregnancy is more accurate than the urine test and can confirm your pregnancy according to the HCG level. It can detect pregnancy much earlier than urine test.

If found positive and if you still don't want to continue, then you should consult your gynecologist for further course of action as medical termination of pregnancy needs certain procedures like signing a consent form. Do not try taking the abortion kits on your own without consulting your Dr as it may result in complications like incomplete abortion.
