Taken Fioronal For Migraine Treatment, Unable To Get This Now. Any Alternate Substitute ?

I have taken fioronal for migraine treatment for several years. The last 2 times I went to fill my perscription I was told that there is a shortage from the drug company and they don't know why. Is it discontinued? I had to call different pharmacies until I found one. What other drug is a suitable substitute? I find that acetaminophen doesn't agree with me or work as well for treatment of my migraines as aspirin.

Hello. Acetaminophen is not an alternative because its analgesic potency is lower and because their continued use produces chronic daily headache.
Is a suitable substitute for example naproxeno.
I treat my patients with naproxen 500 mg twice a day / thrice a day when migraine is the diagnosis. If naproxen is not effective, agonists of serotonin receptors(sumatriptan for example) would be another option.
Please consult your local doctor for a prescription.
I wish you good health.
