Taken Antibiotics For Running Nose. Now Headache. X-ray Shows Fluid Accumulation. No Relief With Medicine
My daughter had running nose last 15 days and the doctor prescribed some antibiotics and she recovered.
But now for the past one week She has developed severe headache and we took x-ray of the head and the
doctor said there is some fluid accumulation in the head. Even after taking taking the prescribed drugs for 3 days
the headache has not recovered. pls advice
The fluid accumulation could refer to fluid collecting in the sinuses. This can occur with upper respiratory tract infections (infections involving the nasal passages, ears and sinuses).
Sinus congestion can result in a headache.
Your daughter's doctor may suggest the use of antihistamines, pain killer and decongestants to help. Decongestants can be oral or topically applied to the nose.
Another course of antibiotics may be given.
The application of warm compress to the face and a humidifier may also help to release some of the congestion and pain.
I hope this helps
