Taken Cytotec For Abortion, Hcg Test Showing Positive Even After Taking Cytotec. Any Ideas?

Hi.. Last May on 23rd i did an hcg test,it proved to be negative. I had intercourse on that day itself and then on 30th of May as well. On 1st of June, i was supposed to get my period on this day, i didnt get..so I did the HCG test again and now it was positive. I attempted an abortion by the use of cytotec(at home) on 6th of June, I had little bleeding only for around 3days. And today 23rd June i did the HCG test again, and it is showing am pregnant. can you just refer me whether it is just the hcg which is taking time to decrease in my body or is there anything else possible? As according to me, when i attempted the abortion, it was very early pregnancy. Thank You

Thanks for writing to us.
You should consult a gynaecologist for ultrasonography to rule out any returned product of conception because HCG take time to come down normal and it is not a good indicator to detect that abortion is complete or not.
