Taken Salt Water For Feeling Of Obstruction In Throat. Any Ideas?
Hello, I have had this feeling that something is stuck in my throat. I've heard of tonsil stones before and figured that was what it was. I tried the warm salt water and it didn't seem to help. I also found that you can usually see them on your tonsils. however mine are not. They feel deeper within my throat. I looked in the mirror today and saw something protruding in my throat. I think it is my epiglottis, but I can't imagine why I would be able to visibly see this all of a sudden. Any ideas?
The symptoms mentioned in your post indicate that you might be having Pharyngitis.
Management includes: 1. Gargle with warm salt water to relieve throat pain. 2. Analgesics like paracetamol 3. Antibiotics depending upon culture & sensitivity reports to remove the causative organism. 4. Antihistamine preparations can also be used to provide symptomatic relief.
Meanwhile...avoid taking cold food & drinks, maintain adequate hydration & take soft, non-spicy foods. Wish you a speedy recovery. Take care.
