Taking Digoxin, Metoprolol, Diltiazem, Warfarin For A-fib. Increased Heartbeat, High BP. Due To Medicine?
Hello my name is Bill and my question is,"I am on the following medications for A-Fib: Digoxin, Metoprolol, Diltiazem, and of course Warfarin. Aprox. a week ago I woke up in the morn. and didnt feel very good or rested. in about 30 mins. I felt my heart starting to race. I immediately took my BP and found the following results: Systolic 128 , Diastolic 88, and my Pulse was 141 and irratic. What would possibly cause this as I am on these meds mentioned above?
Digoxin, Metoprolol, Diltiazem – all the three reduce the rate. If it is high in spite of them the dose has to be adjusted / or the drug may have to be changed.... Contributing factors like embolism, electrolytes and thyroid have to be investigated..., Alternative approaches like Electro-physiological studies with a view for ablation, pulmonary vein isolation or surgery may be considered... Discuss with your doctor...
Take care Wishing speedy recovery God bless Good luck
