Taking Doxepine Tablet For Migraine. Feeling Tired All The Time. Is It Due To Medicine?

Hi, my family doctor put me on Doxepine for my migraines as they have been frequent. I also just came off of birth control because we are not sure if that was what was causing the migraines. While the doxepine seems to be working already (after 4 nights of taking it....at 10mg per pill) I feel sleepy all day. The first day after taking it, I felt like I was high, the second day I felt as though I was hung over, and since then I have been tired all the time. I have been sleeping about 10-11 hours and am still tired. This is very unusual for me. Could it be from the medication?

Hi there, thanks for asking. it is true since doxepine has strong anihistaminic property and it can cause sleepiness. It is good that the body gradually accepts it easier and you will not have this degree of sleepienss after some weeks. Another way to handle this issue is that you take the medication in the early evening rather than lat night. I wish you a good health.
