Taking Furosemide For Flu. Have Stomach Pain, Back Pain, Vomiting, Light Headedness, Dehydration. Reason?
Hi, I have been feeling poorly for the past week. The two things that were going on are I had the Flu for three days. And prior to my getting the Flu I started taking a new medicine called, Furosemide 20 mg. now my symptoms have been, pain in stomach area middle to upper part of back pain, some vomiting and a sence of being light headed and sort of in a fog. A moderate case of dehydration . I did not take this medicine today and have been feeling better by the end of day. Also a loss of apatite in three days I only had one meal. And the rest of the time I ate a piece of fruit, fruit frappe crackers. I think my problem was the medicine. Look forward to your opinion. Miss May Churchill
Hi thanks for your querry. Yes you are most probably right. Furosemide is a drug that drains fluid from the body, as a result produces dehydration. Allthe symptoms can be explained by dehydration. You have done it right by discontinuing the drug. You may revisit the physician for the primary reason for which frusemide is prescribed for. All the best.
