Taking Ativan, Thyronorm And Insulin. Suffer From Depression And Diabetes. Severe Weight Gain And Mood Swings. Reason?

my mother aged 60 is on following medicine
thyronorm 75 mg 1 tabs in mornning
celin 500 500 mg----------1 tabs
soval chrono 300 mg------1 tabs
cardace 2.5 mg ------1 tabs
quatan 25 mg---------------t tabs
nexito plus-------------------1 tabs
ativan -------------------------1 tabs
insulin inj-----------------------55 units in two divided doses
she is suffering from deppresion, diabetes etc. recently she had been diagnosed with higher cortisol level ang having following symptomps
Extreme weight gain
Moodiness, irritability, or depression
Muscle and bone weakness
Osteoporosis Hypertension
Sleep disturbances, excess urination, very thin skin with blood rash

Hi there ~

I understand your concerns and appreciate the fact that you have listed your medications. I wonder if you have had your TFTs recently. If not please get them as poor thyroid levels due to hypothyroidism deteriorating would make things worse. I also think that optimizing your antidepressant medications should solve the problems as well. Adding an adjuvant medication like duloxetine or desvenlafaxine or mirtazapine or bupropion may make you feel better, however you need to consult a psychiatrist regarding the same. I also think that sleep disturbances can be addressed during the same visit as well. I hope this helps.
