Teen, Getting Brownish Red Period, Clumpy. Should I Be Worried?
Im 13, and I ve had my period since the end of last year. I m currently on it but it started not last Monday, but the Monday before that. It stopped last Tuesday but came back Wednesday morning, but when it came back it was brownish red and it s getting clumpy. Should I be worried?
Hi, Thanks for the query. After attaining menarche it will take some time for regularization of the periods. There will be hormonal fluctuation in this period, leading to irregular periods. Usually this will subside soon with progression of time. If the irregularity persists, better to consult gynecologist once. Undergo ultrasound and thyroid profile. If everything is normal, you can tablets to control the bleeding. Hormonal pills will help in regularization of menstrual cycles. Take help of your elders in dealing with the problem. Take care.
