Hi,
Welcome to health care magic.
The
basal body temperature is controlled by many a factors like the diet you take, your life style, estrogen levels, cortisol levels, stress levels, thyroid hormone and the weather.
Estrogen is the major hormone for the pre ovualtory phase. It often alters the circadian rhythm of cortisol levels which in turn regulate the
metabolism of the body and there by alter the BBT ( estrogen causes low BBT and
progesterone causes raised BBT).
Change in your diet like high fat diet raises the BBT . Increased stress levels and a cold weather raises your BBT.
Changes in BBT is common. But too much fluctuations in BBT needs a work up.
If the Fluctuations are too erratic i.e., variation more than one degree Farenheiet ( in
follicular phase), Please get your thyroid, estrogen , progesterone and Prolactin levels checked and see a doctor based on the test results.
Try avoid wine and high fat diet. Try to reduce your stress levels (
meditation or spending some quality time with your family should help). Take plenty of fresh vegetables, fruits and plenty of fluids ( non beverages).
Hope you got the answer you were looking for.
