Tender And Painful Back Pain, Pinching Feeling In Abdomen, Constipation. History Clipping On Childbirth And Miscarriages Later. Defective Clip?

Hi there,
I am 35 years old and had twin girls 3 1/2 years ago by cesarian. I was clipped at that time. Last year I was pretty sure I had a miscarriage that my doctor could not confirm as I waited too long to see her. Based on my description and past history of miscarriages she felt I could be right. Last month my period was late which was abnormal and I did test positive for pregnancy. Shortly after I began a painful period that lasted over a week (I usually only have three days), big clots and a greyish kinda blob as well.

My question is if it is possible that I have a defective clip? I have lower back pain which I chalk up to having twins but it is basically painfully when rubbed and feels very tender. In my low front abdomen I constantly feel this pinching feeling that can catch me off gaurd if I move too quickly or bend to the right. I started having bowel problems about 8 or 9 months ago and was extremely constipated where that has never been a problem before. My doctor started me on magnesium and a powder laxative as well as B50's and vitamin D.

Thank you for your time on my behalf and I apologize if I sound whiney as that is not my intent.

OBGYN 's  Response
Hello, I would be happy to help you with your question.

You are not sounding whiney at all! The fact is that you thought you had a form of permanent contraception performed, but you WERE pregnant if you had a positive test. This is extremely important to sort out. Here is what you need to do:
1. You should check another pregnancy test NOW
2. You should get an opinion with an OB/GYN whether it might be a good idea to perform a laparoscopy to assess your tubes and re-perform the tubal ligation (perhaps using another technique, such as removing your tubes)
3. Get the operative report from your Cesarian and make sure they actually did the tubal ligation
4. Consider having your husband get a vasectomy
5. Assume you are at risk for pregnancy NOW and use back up protection until this is sorted out.

I hope that this helps!
