Tender And Sore Lump On Inner Thigh Popped. Will It Be Ok When Blood And Pus Is Fully Drained?
I have a large red lump on my inner thigh and a large tough surface on my right butt cheek it has been very sore and tender and today I woke to find blood and pus the lump had popped the lump has not gotten any smaller but the tough surface has and softer my question is when its fully drained will I be okay or should I go to the ER?
Thanks for query on HCM. It looks like boil due to bacterial infection. If pus and blood is oozing out then try to squeeze it and drain the more pus from inside. Take proper local care. Clean it with antiseptic liquid and apply antibiotic cream like fusidic acid. Take oral antibiotic like amoxy/cloxa to subside infection and nsaid to subside pain, swelling, inflammation. Avoid tight clothing. Consult your family physician for proper medical management.
It sounds as though you had an abscess which has now ruptured.
The definitive treatment of an abscess is incision and drainage of the area. Antibiotics may also be needed.
It would be best to have it assessed by a doctor because even though it has burst sometimes pockets of pus can remain that may result in recurrence of infection.
In addition your doctor may provide antibiotics.
I hope this helps
