Hi i have a mirena in me since feb and i bleed for the whole of four months now i have stopped and i am also taking amitriptyline 10mg two at nite i also taking naproxen 500mg 1 at nite, for the past week n bit i have pain some really bad cramp pains n also feel like I'm pregnant, tender breast, my sense of smell has heightened i am peeing lots feel sick n bloated is it possible i could be pregnant i took a home test it read negative but im unsure weather tablets im taking can affect the results, please can u give me advise
There could be three main reasons for your presentation: -a hormonal imbalance wich could have been caused by the mirena (although removed) -infections -pregnancy
In such a scenario I would advice you to first repeat the home pregnancy test, this time using an early morning urine sample, and to be conducted at least 2 weeks after your last sexual encounter.
Once pregnancy has completely been ruled out you would have to get a urine examination, vaginal swab test and a blood test to check on hormone levels. Please request your doctor for the same.
