Terrible Pain In Ovaries Before Periods. History Of Irregular, Long Periods Regulated By Birth Control Pills. Suggestions?

Hello. I am worried about what is going on with me. I have had problems previously with periods, about three years ago I didn't have a period for three months and then I had one that lasted for an entire month. I spoke to my doctor about this and she put me on birth control to regulate me, which helped. Then recently I have been experiencing terrible in in my ovaries, on a scale from 1-10 its about an 8-10. Its only in my ovaries and it has been happening for about a year now. It happens way before my period happens and I am not pregnant there is no way I have only ever had one sex partner, a woman, and neither of us have any sort of disease. I went to the emergency room last year for an infection and I was put on antibiotics and was tested and they found nothing. I am really worried about what is going on and I wanted to know what it could possibly be.

Hello,

Thanks for posting on HCM,

From your description, there is high suspicion of endometriosis as being the cause of your symptoms.
You will need to consult a gynobs who can examine you, do a pelvic and transvaginal ultrasound to determine the cause of your pain and irregular menses. If the gynobs confirms this, she might place you probably on hormone therapy combined to NSAID.
I do not think that you might be having a pelvic inflammation.
Another possible cause of your problem is PCOS (you will still need a gynobs to confirm or exclude)
