What is this is mean The right ovary is adherent to the uterus within it are two cystic structure with low to medium echoes: 2.11x1.18x2.28 cma nd 3.88x2.43x3.32 cm. Superior tot he ovary is a tubulocystic structure with low to medium echoes 3.30x1.59x2.39 .. Right ovary considered as endometriotic cyst and right adnexal structure consider endometrioma externa (probably tubal).. What is this mean? Thank you
The ultrasound findings are suggestive of endometriosis with an endometriotic cyst. Endometriosis is a condition where your endometrium is present in ectopic (abnormal) locations. As a result, they respond to hormones and behave like your normal endometrium-bleeding cyclically, causing pain, etc. The additional problem when they are present in your abdomen is that they can cause adhesions which means things stick to each other. Depending on your symptoms, there are a few medications available. in severe cases, laparoscopy is used to clear out the deposits.
