Thick Part Of Nail Over Regular Nail In Toe, Hurts While Wearing Shoes. Should I See A Doctor?

Hi...My big toenail looks funny and I am not sure if it's an ingrown toenail or what it is. It's very thick and it's like there is part of a nail over the regular nail. It hurts when I wear regular shoes, but I'm ok in athletic shoes. It is not discolored. Do drugstore remedies fix this sort of thing or do I need a doctor? Thanks.

Hi,
It seems that you are having ingrowing of toe nail.
Thick and hard toe nail bending from both the sides produces stabbing type injury to nail bed giving you pain while wearing shoes.
You may require minor surgical procedure to cut down the side of toe nail from both the sides.
No drug store remedy will work.
Ok and take care.
