This Question Is For A Veterinarian About Cleaning A Dogs

This question is for a Veterinarian about cleaning a dogs ears. Can I clean my dogs ears with half purified water and half hydrogen peroxide ? Or should I use an over the counter ear cleaner from a pet store. Or do I need to let the vet office take care of it ? Someone told me to not put any liquid in the pets ears. My vet office is closed right now. Just curious about the best solution.
