Throbbing Pain On Left Chest Area, Shortness Of Breath, History Of Asthma. Any Ideas?

Hi, I am a 20 yr old female, and have recently been having a throbbing pain, on my left chest area. It is not very painful, but it is like a dull pain. The throbbing pains are very short, and does not last long. I have also been having shortness of breath along with it. I have a history of Asthma, but haven't had any problems in a few years. I was able to get an ECG, but the doctor informed me that my heart was healthy. I was wondering if there could be anything else that causes this. My family also has a history of Heart problems, but like I informed you, the ECG said it was healthy. Thank you for your time, and please let me know what you believe it could be.

Hi,
Thanks for posting the question to H.C.M.Forum.
Now a days I have seen that parental history is non specific because change of dietary habits and way of life style, so please don't bother about history of heart ailments in your family.
Now coming to your query, that pain was on the left side and throbbing pain.
Keep in brain one thing any pain is more than 30 seconds than we terms it a heart pain.
One thing is more in your query that you are an asthmatic patient so in your age there is rare chance of heart disease.
So try to increase stamina of your body and forget about all disease.
Good luck.

Hi friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

The symptoms do not suggest heart disease...
Coronary Artery Disease is uncommon in pre-menopausal women.
You are too young...get an ECHOcardiography to rule out Congenital Heart Disease...

Have an examination, Chest X-ray and lung function (Spirometry) to assess the role of asthma

Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck
