Thyroid Cyst Detected In Cat Scan, It Is Hypoechoic, Increasing In Size. What Does It Mean ?

I have two thyroid cyst the first was detected on a cat scan because doctor felt a small nodule.That was 3 month ago, stated measure on the ct scan was 8mm, I recently had a sonogram of the thyroid it states that cyst ishypoechoic and measures 12mm x 9mm x 8mm, has this increased in size, the results state a 12mm.The second is a new finding it is 7mm x 6mm x 5mm heterogeneous isoechoic and mildly hypoechoic solid indeterminate nule. Possible mural calcification with linear and puntate echogenic foci peripherally. What does all this mean ?

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.

Cyst in thyroid could contain blood or fluid with in it.
This needs to be evaluated further.
Hemorrhagic cyst are seen in thyroiditis.
you need to get complete blood counts, thyroid profile test done.
FNAC of nodule helps to know type of lesion. as it is having calcification and heterogeneous better to rule out malignant changes.
