Tightness, Discomfort In Jugular Notch, Anxiety Ruled Out. No Improvement With Benzodiazepine. Cause?
I always seem to have a tight uncomfortable feeling at my jugular notch, and slightly below, that s there right from waking til bedtime. It doesn t feel like an anxiety type of throat tightness, I ve had that before- and I m not anxious now. I did try a benzodiazepine just in case but it made no difference. I m 30 and healthy.
Hi ! Good evening. I am Dr Shareef answering your question.
If I were your doctor, considering the chronicity of the problem I would advise you for a CT scan of the area in question and the treat the condition in case some pathology is seen in the report. In case all is normal, I would advise you for a thyroid function test, and clinical examination by an ENT specialist.
I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts. Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. Wishing you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
