female 23 not sure if im having anxiety problems or something worse. for the past couple of months i have had a funny feeling in my chest/lungs. its like when you go for a long swim, take a breath in and feel burning or tightness. it was more noticable today I have been having trouble sleeping (more than usual) at night and napping long hrs in the day. I looked up symptoms of heart attacks in women and do have many of them. I dont have vomiting, sweating or left arm pain. my stomach is tender if i poke it. do feel kind of sick to my stomach too. I have problems with anxiety so I dont want to go to the ER if its not urgent. plus i Do Not have the money to go in unless its life or death
You have difficulty in breathing, chest tightness and weird feeling in chest. Also you have difficulty in sleeping. There is no vomiting, left are pain. But stomach appears sick also. Most likely these are the symptoms of anxiety. Anxiety may present with non specific restlessness, fear, difficulty in breathing. If you are able to follow normal routine daily then there is no need to go to ER immediately. But if it is troublesome then I would advise you to please visit a good Psychiatrist for expert opinion. Both medicines and non medicinal treatment are useful. Medicines like Fluoxetine, Paroxetine are very useful. Relaxation methods, behavior therapy are also other options.
Hi,
thanks for using healthcare magic.
Your symptoms are due to panic attacks which is common in Anxiety.
But you must rule out physical causes of symptoms, like heart problem, Thyroid disturbances. low Hemoglobin or vitamine B12 deficiency.
Once these are ruled out, then you should consult psychiatrist for detailed evaluation and treatment.
meanwhile you can do stress management like relaxation techniques , yoga, meditation or breathing exercise.
Avoid caffeine or nicotine in excess in any.
thanks
