Tingling In Fingers, Hurts, Hard To Breath. Possible Reason? How To Cure?

My husband complains of tingling in his fingers. Then soon after he says its hard to breath. And I'm pretty sure it hurts him. This is something that has been going on for a while. I'm afraid of ignoring it. And I don't know how concerned we should be about it.
Can you give me an idea of what this might be. And what we might need to do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Welcome to HCM.It would help to rule out any cardiac problem like myocardial ischaemia by getting a ECG/Tread mill Test or a Cardiac stress test (gallium Stress test) as that would rule out a potentially serious cause of tingling in fingers and breathlessness. Other causes would include cervical spinal nerve root compression and anxiety/stress related psychosomatic causes.Your PCP can examine and investigate as per the physical findings seen .

General & Family Physician Dr. Shoaib Khan's  Response
Hello.

There are numerous reasons to a presentation similar to your husbands, but let us start with a few of the most common ones, they are;
-Metabolic conditions like diabetes, which affect thr blood vessels on the long-term
-Hypertension
-Disorders of the vessels (eg. Atherosclerosis, etc.)
-Vitamin deficiency (especially vitamin B12)
and a few others.

I would advise a routine blood check, along with a glycemic profile, doppler ultrasound of the region affected, complete cardiac profile, serum vitamin B12 and serum iron levels; to start with.

These are quite conclusive investigations, but if these do not return a conclusive result; youe doctor can rule these out and move forward with other possible causes.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
