Tired, Long Dreams, Sleepwalking, Unexplained Bruises, Numb Hands. No Anemia Or Diabetes
I have a lot of sleep related problems. I have always been overtired during the day. It doesn't take 10 minutes for me to fall asleep. When i do fall asleep, my dreams always seem to last forever, Like i'll feel like i've slept all night and it's only been an hour. This will continue all night until i have to get up and i feel exhausted all day. I can't tell the difference between a dream and reality when i'm in bed. I wake up and don't know where i am or what's going on and it takes me a good 5 minutes to figure out that the dream i had isint real and me and my family are ok. I also sleep walk. I've woken up with bruises and in strange places in my house. When i wake up, my hands are always numb. I'm really tired of this, I had some tests done recently and my thyroid, is fine im not amnemic or diabetic. I really just want a good night sleep where i wake up refreshed.
Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. Excessive sleep call as narcolepsy . Narcolepsy is both a disorder of the ability to sustain wakefulness voluntarily and a disorder of rapid eye movement ( R E M) sleep regulation. May be due to , 1 Sudden weakness or loss of muscle tone, 2 Hallucination at sleep onset( hypnogogic hallucination) 3 muscular paralysis upon awakening ( as in your case). Consult a physician /psychiatrist and get their opinion . Good luck. Dr. HET
