Tobacco Stains On My Teeth, How Could I Get The Whiteness Back ?
I am a casual smoker and I think its causing stains in the gaps between teeth how can I have it removed...or get the whiteness back

Dear Mohit,
You can get scaling done by your dentist to get rid of cigarette stains. But the stains will re-appear after few weeks-few months depending on your frequency of smoking. Smoke from the cigarette produces sticky tar on the surface of the teeth, which cannot be removed by brushing your teeth. More you smoke, more the build-up of tar. Generally these stains appear on the back side of teeth & on biting surfaces. But, if your teeth have spaces, the stains produced by your smoking habit show up inter-dentally. This makes your teeth look more dirty. The true remedy is to quit smoking & lead a healthy life style.

Smoking stains are very common and in most of the cases can be removed by a procedure called "scaling and polishing" by the dentist. In certain patients when there are gaps between teeth these stains are easily visible, due to the gaps and are difficult remove by the patient by brushing. Therfore professional cleaning is required.
Stain removal can be done by cleaning but whitening your tooth shade requires another procedure called bleaching/tooth whitening. With the help of this procedure teeth can lighten or whiten upto 3-5 shades leading to a brighter smile. i would advice you to visit your dentist for the same.

smoking naturally leads to stains on teeth and since brushing mostly removes stains on flat surafce ,so stains between teeth remain
what i would suggest is that you visit your dentist and get your scaling done ,that will remove the stains
however scaling only removes debris and stains but does not whitens the teeth
If you intend for whitening of teeth you can go for dental bleech process
also i would advise that you gradually decrease your smoking as it is harmful in general

First you have to give up tobacco.
You cannot remove the nicotine stains from your teeth at home just by using toothpaste and such.
You have to get them scaled (scraped) off by a dental professional, like a dentist or dental hygienist.
You can have bleaching also.
Use interdental brushes.

so what i would suggest is that you pay a visit to your dentist and get a scaling and polishing done
hope you would be satisfied with that and if not than after scaling you can opt for dental bleach procedure which completely whitens your teeth
having said that i would also like to advice that stains on your teeth are going to be removed by dentist but the stains on your lungs (tar deposit in lung due to smoke ) are not curable and are much more harmful
so try to avoid smoking

smoking stain can be removed easily as cam paired to gutkha or paan stain as it do not penetrate inside of tooth,
go for scaling , polishing,(oral prophylaxis), after that you may consider dental bleaching (office bleach/home bleach)..if require
and to continue enjoying your whitened teeth...quit smoking...visit your dentist regularly

Hi, go for scaling at a dental office. The tobacco stains can be easily remoovrd. You dentist may advise you beaching or dental whitening if there is a change in tooth colour due to the habit. Take care!

avoid smoking and tobacco consumption. scaling is the proper treatment to get them removed. Use of salt as manjan help in some cases.
