Took 2 Instead Of Normal One Dose Of Electrocine Tablet. Will It Have Any Side Effects ?

Hi, I usually take one dose of electrocine tablet everyday morning, before food. I had my thyroid surgically removed few years back. Today, by mistake , I had 2 electrocine tablets instead of the normal dosage 1. Will it cause any side effects? Do I need to take any precautionary measures ? Pls advise.

Hi Geetha,
Welcome to HCM,
Hypothyroidism is treated by supplementation of Thyroxine, Taking two tab instead of one depends what strength you are taking.
You should monitor your symptoms like palpitations, fast heart rate, blood pressure, irregular heart beats, Excessive perspiration and shaky feeling due to tremors.
If there are any you may visit ER or your physician to examine and guide you like avoid Tea,coffee, and take rest.
Usually it will not cause any serious problem but take care to to follow instruction carefully. Hope this helps.
Please test your Thyroid functions periodically to adjust dose of Thyroxine to optimum level.
