Took Emergency Pill After Unprotected Sex. Mild Bleeding. Need To Get Checked?

Hi Doctor,
I had unprotected sex with my boy friend on 1st May night and had a mPill immediately. On the next day I had again had sex on 2nd May morning and took another dose of mPill, and an another dose during night of Unprotected 72. So I took in all 3 dose of tablets. My regular mestural cycle was on 23rd of May but I got my periods yesterday i.e., on 17th May. I dont have too much of flow even after a day of my periods. This is not the case with my regular mestural cycle. Is there any problem which I need to get check, could you please suggest.

Hello,

I-pill or unwanted 72 gives more than 95% protection if it is taken within 24 hrs of unprotected sex. Following taking the pill, it is quite normal phenomena to get period earlier or delayed. It occurs due to hormonal imbalance & mental stress.

You need to wait for normal flow of your period. If you do not get it around due date, you need to undergo one home pregnancy test to be sure. One blood test for beta-hcg is required to confirm after 7 days.

Use combined OCP instead of emergency pill. It is more effective and regularizes monthly cycle.

Practice safe sex in future. Good luck.
