Took Ipill After Unprotected Sex Before Period. Periods Delayed. Any Chances Of Pregnancy? When To Take Test?
Hello sir, I have unprotected sex with my husband twice on same day, one day before my periods has to come. I have taken ipill after 38 hours of unprotected sex. Now my periods got delayed for 1 week and what are the chances of pregnancy. We are not ready for baby now. After how many days of unprotected sex can I check for pregnancy test?
Hi.. Thanks for the query.. If you had history of regular periods (28-30 days cycle) the period in which you had sex is considered as safe in term of contraception ie., risk of becoming pregnant is very very less..(close to nil). No need to take even post coital pill also ( provided your periods are regular).. When you take post coital pills there can be delay in periods.. Don't worry.. You can do a pregnancy test even now for confirmation.. Take care..

Took Ipill After Unprotected Sex Before Period. Periods Delayed. Any Chances Of Pregnancy? When To Take Test?
Hello, thanks for using health care magic There is very little possibility that you could be pregnant. This is due to the fact that, you had sex out of the fertile period which comes about ten days after the onset of menses. Secondly, you took emergency contraceptive which when taken within the first 72 hours following unprotected intercourse provides effective contraception. The delay in menses is as a result of the pill you took which is a hormonal contraception and is known to alter menstrual cycle. Hope this helps. Dr Achuo
