Took Morning After Pill After Having Unprotected Sex. Missed Periods, Headaches, Bloating, Gassy. Suggestions?
Good day. I had unprotected sex in March 2013, took a morning after pill, got my period in April. However it was two weeks late in March, we’re now in June I have not gotten my period as yet. I have a brownish/reddish discharge (no cramps), I have constant headaches, I’m bloated and have passing a lot of gas. I took a home pregnancy test, it was negative. I’m worried; I would appreciate any help given.
Hi ! Home pregnancy test is not a confirmatory test for pregnancy. You are advised to go for a serum HCG test and an ultrasound of abdomen if advised by your gynaecologist. The brownish discharge points to either a partial miscarriage or a pelvic infection which may be the reason for your headache due to fever. If the symptoms persist, then I would suggest you to get yourself checked by a gynaecologist. Wishing you an early recovery.
