Took Plan B After Sex. Having Pregnancy Symptoms, Test Negative. Spotting Lightly, Pain In Uterus. Miscarriage?
I had sex on july 24. and took plan b, but not until july 27. then had a pregnancy test on that day and it came back negative. and i took another pregnancy test at the gynecologist on july 30 and it came back negative too. but i haven't gotten my period since june 26 and I've been feeling weird lately. I was getting a lot of pregnancy symptoms but now i am spotting very lightly and having pains where my uterus sits. could i have been pregnant and had a miscarriage?
Hi, If you have been having regular 28-30 day cycles earlier, then there was no need to take the emergency pill at all as you were almost due for your cycle when you had intercourse and as such were in the safe period. As your hormonal milieu has been disturbed due to the pill, your cycles will get abnormal for a couple of times. For a urine pregnancy test to become positive you should wait for 3 weeks after the intercourse. You can get serum beta-hCG levels assessed to confirm/exclude pregnancy. The spotting is most likely a breakthrough bleed. Please see a specialist for further support. Take care.
