Hi and sorry to hear about this problem.

The pains you are describing after tooth extraction and the lump on the top of your gum are concerning. This raises the suspicion of infection and maybe fluid collection. If two successive visits with prescribed antibiotics have failed to relieve you of this, then you need some more evaluation.

Please, meet and talk with your doctor. Let him/her consider doing an xray to detect any complication that may have resulted from this tooth extraction. If it requires opening it up and draining, then he/she should do this. I believe this is the best approach to identifying and resolving this problem.

I wish hope this really helps you as you strive to get a long lasting solution to this. if you are on pain killers, continue them but g in as soon as possible. It is worth it. Wish you a good health. Feel free to come back to us if need be.

Hello,

Thanks for posting your query.

Pain at the site of extraction is due to the traumatic extraction undergone.

The hard lump may be arised due to formation of hematoma.

Gargle frequently with warm saline and betadine.

Maintain oral hygiene well.

Rinse your mouth after every meals.

Take complete course of antibiotics -analgesics.

The socket has to be curetted well.

Take care.

Hi
Welcome to HCM forum,
As your tooth has been extracted but its still aching so having antibiotics for long duration is not the treatment.
You should go for a thorough clinical and radiographical examination of extraction site to rule out the reason of pain whether its due to nerve injury /dry socket/ remnant of tooth left inside the socket.
Till then maintain oral hygiene, continue warm saline rinses.
wishing you recovery soon
Take care

Dear friend.

Thanks for sharing your concern.

Hard lump shows clear cut signs of infection. As you are already taking antibiotics, do not worry slowly it will regress.

Here i would just like to mention one thing that please check radio graphically,if the whole tooth is out or not,any remaining root stump is the nidus for infection.

Therefore please get a recent x ray done and inquire from your dentist if the whole tooth along with roots is out.

Meanwhile do warm saline rinses.

Hope it helps.

Thanks.

Take care.
