Tore Labial Frenulum, Had Stitches To Reattach. Should I Leave It Alone?

Hi-- I woke up this morning...thought I had a canker sore. It seems that I tore my labial frenulum. when I was a kid, I had a minor accident and had stitches to reattach the labial frenulum...what could happen when I was asleep to cause the tear? I read that it is not uncommon... do I need stitches or leave it alone. thanks so much :) Art

Hi,

Thanks for asking the query,

According to your clinical symptom i suspect that you have developed a canker sore in the frenulum area , this can be due to physical or chemical trauma.
Apply antiseptic and analgesic cream topically over the area.
Visit the Dentist and get thorough examination done sutures can be placed if required.
Take lukewarm saline rinses to give soothing effect.
Take antiseptic mouthwash rinses to prevent superinfection and promote healing.

Hope this helps out.

Regards..
