Transvaginal Ultrasound Showed PCOS. Taking Hemostan And Duphaston. Could It Be Wrong?
H! Since October last year up to May of this year my periods has not been on normal cycle, 42-45days.. But after my last period on May 28, I got my period 17days days after (June14). My OB told me to take hemostan to stop the bleeding because the result on my TVS that I have PCOS. BTW, the TVS was done on the 5th day of my period. After taking for 3days, my bleeding stopped on the 7th day.. The doctor told me to be back on my next period so that she'll give me something for me to have an ovulation.. But I was not convinced with what she wanted me to do. July2, I visited another OB & showed told her my story & the result of my TVS. she told me that it's not yet confirmed that I have a PCOS because I had my TVS on the 5th day. TVS should be done on the time I'm supposed to ovulate. She told me to take duphaston for 2x a day for 7days. Her plan is to normalize my cycle first before making me take ovulation pills or something.. Today it's July15 & I don't have my period yet. Does taking duphaston will make me have my period this week?
Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. Duphaston 's ingredient is dyhdrogesterone and dose is 10 mg twice or thrice in day. In my opinion this will not regulate your menstruation. As main reason of dysfunctional uterine bleeding id P C O D (PCOS). So in my opinion upload reports of ultrasound over this site , if this not possible than consult one more Gynaecologist and get his opinion as well treatment ( of PCOS). Get in blood for Estrogen, estradiols, F S H/L h ratio. Good luck. Dr. HET
