Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic

Male pattern baldness or Androgenetic alopecia is due to genetically programmed hair thinning and recession of hair line

Androgenetic alopecia is characterised by gradual hair thinning from the crown and vertex of the scalp. In males there is a receding frontal hair line as well, whereas the anterior hair line is mostly preserved in females.

Minoxidil is approved for this kind of hair loss. 5% minoxidil can be use twice daily in 1ml quantity at the scalp skin.

Since this type of hair loss is androgen dependent, an oral anti androgen e.g finasteride 1mg daily is also approved for this kind of hair loss.

Treatment is long term and results may take some time (3-6 months) to become noticeable

regards
