Trying Gabapentin For Peripheral Neuropathy. Afib Out Of Control, Advised Carvedilol Instead. Is It Ok To Just Quit ?

have been trying gabapentin for about 6 months - for peripheral neuropathy - it has not changed my symptoms - question is: my a fib is out of control, after surgery to move pacemaker to RS, so Dr has suggested to go way up with the carvedilol, and to possibly stop the gapapentin. Is it ok just to quit - (I'm only taking 200 mg at bedtime)?

Hi friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

No problem in stopping gabapentin abruptly...
Carvedilol can be upped safely

There are several classes of anti-arrhythmic drugs and several drugs in each class / There is also the feasibility of intervention – like ablation / pulmonary vein isolation – after Electro Physiologic studies. Discuss with your doctor...

Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck
