Trying To Conceive. AMH, FSH, LH Was Abnormal. Natural Pregnancy?
Hello, I m 32 yr old female married for 18 months. We were trying to get pregnant immediately after marriage.since I was not getting pregnant even after a year of trying , we met a fertility specialist.she did my AMH which was 2.05. My day 3 FSH was 7.0 and LH was 6.5. Based on these she said I had diminished ovarian reserve and started me on cap. Oviserv ( DHEA) .she advised IVF after 4 cycles as she said my chances of natural pregnancy is very less.
Luckily after 3 months I conceived naturally while still on DHEA. This co incidentally also happened after my HSG test. ( the doc was not keen on doing HSG test at all as she said I anyways have to do IVF , so the tube patency does not matter. But we insisted as I had read that HSG can sometimes clear mucous plugs and help in pregnancy).unfortunately it turned out to be a blighted ovum and I had to terminate it 3 weeks back.
My questions are -
1. Based on my history and lab values how good are my chances of getting pregnant again?
2. Is it true that fertility of a woman is maximum after a miscarriage? After how many months can we try pregnancy again?
I am very confused and worried.
Please give me an idea of my prognosis.
Thank you.
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The low levels of hormones that you are having are likely to cause a difficulty in conception. A low AMH refers to a decrease in ovarian reserve thus decreasing the chances of conception. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
