Trying To Conceive. Had Pills. Pregnancy Test- Negative. Lower Abdomen Pains. Why Is It?
Hello I am 25 years of age got married 1.5 years back trying to conceive. I was on tablet for 1 year now i am not on any pills then in last november i got my periods 4 times in a month so i consulted the doc and took the medications as per her guideness. Now i ahd my last periods on 25th feb 2013 i ahavent had my periods till now did my pregnancy test at home twice came out negative and now i am experiencing lower abdominal pain at the right side. Please let me know the suggestions. I am really worried.

Hi,
Having right sided abdominal pain without having a positive pregnancy test could mean that you have some sort of uterine pathology. If I were to guess, the best disease that fits your profile would be dysmenorrhea. Dysmenorrhea simply means any situation where you do not have good or regular mentrual periods. Thus, you will have irregular periods. What I want you to do is ask a gynecologist to assess your situation and then find out what is wrong.

Having right sided abdominal pain without having a positive pregnancy test could mean that you have some sort of uterine pathology. I would first like to ask what was the diagnosis/the cause for your bleed taking place four times in one month. This can only take place if there exists some abnormality. You have not mentioned your diagnosis, and whether or not you were treated for the same.
Some of the conditions that can result in irregular/intermenstrual bleeds can reduce the chances of pregnancy or even terminate a pregnancy if it takes place; if they are not treated or addressed.
So please first treat the cause and then move ahead with conception or even the idea of it.
Your lower abdominal pain could also be a sign of this condition still persisting. I would advise an ultrasound of the lower abdominal and pelvis; and a transvaginal ultrasound as well. This should obviously follow a physical examination, a speculum examination might also be required for proper visualization.
Pregnancy can be considered, but I would be more concerned about any underlying conditions, which can prove to be a threat to your pregnancy. Once these threats are cleared out, we can concentrate on conception and pregnancy.
