Trying To Conceive, Diagnosed With Chemical Pregnancy. On Clomid, Low Thyroid. Could This Be The Issue ?
I am 42 and trying to conceive. I was just diagnosed with a chemical pregnancy, however I have not gotten my period yet - it has been over 50 days. My obgyn wants to give me medication to bring on my period and then put me on Clomid to regulate ovulation. She also tested my Thyroid, which came back within the normal range, but low. I am wondering if my thyroid could be the issue. Because my levels came back within the normal range, although low she does not want to investigate further. Any advise is appreciated. Thanks, AAAA
Some of the complications of hypothyroidism are: - Increased risk of infection - Infertility - Miscarriage But this condition has to be chronic in order to be responsible for a miscarriage or chemical pregnancy as you rightly placed it. I think your obgyn needs to follow-up properly for the low thyroid hormone secretion by redoing other tests and investigating further on this. However, it is properly indicated to start you on a medication to start period and on clomid to regulate period.
Hope this helps
