Hi, Both Suboxone and Subutex contain the same active ingredient which is buprenorphine, an opioid. Suboxone contains an additional ingredient called naloxone to guard against misuse by addicts. Since many people like to inject buprenorphine for a high, naloxone is added to prevent this. So when Suboxone is injected, naloxone prevents buprenorphine from binding to opioid receptors and giving a high. When taken orally, naloxone is inactive and so you will not perceive any difference between between Suboxone and Subutex. If you continue with opioids, it is unlikely that the brain will be able to heal itself with time. The best option for you would be to seek treatment for depression and once that improves, try to get off opioids.
