in case of a high risk surgery due to presence of cardiac risk factors, surgeons and anaesthetists need a clearance or approval from physicians or cardiologists before doing surgery. same is a case with you. you can consult a cardiologist as advised and if a stress test is required, a dobutamine stress test can be performed using infusion of a drug named dobutaine to increase heart rate. in this test you don't have to walk on a treadmill. alternatively your cardiologist can examine you and have a woed with the surgeon or anaesthetist. of course you will have to sign a high risk consent showing that you understand the risk posed by cardiac disease or risk factors if present.
