UPT Positive. TVS Shows No Sac, ET Thickened. Is It Pregnancy?

hi doctor, my LMP is 1st April, found UPT positive on 15th May, 2013, got TVS and usg for lower abdomen done, no sac can be seen just thickened endometrium (thickness 16 mm), will that be a sign of early pregnancy, am 30 yrs of age have PCOD and my gynae is advising me for progestore pressaries i am very much confused, had abortion in dec 2012, in my third month of pregnancy.

Thickening of the endometrial lining is not necessarily a sign of early pregnancy. The main definitive indicator on ultrasound is the gestational sac, this is normally visible from 5 weeks and may not be seen this early.

The fact that the pregnancy test was positive is a good indicators, these tests have a low false positive rate.

The progesterone that your doctor prescribed are to maintain the lining of the uterus.
