My baby was born at 31 weeks and 4 days. He had an ultrasound at one week after birth on his brain which was normal. Now he is at 36 weeks cga and (5 weeks old yesterday). He had an ultrasound yesterday that shows a white shadow on the right side of his brain located in the temporal/ parietal area. What does or can this mean?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Presence of white colored shadow on ultrasound on right side of the brain suggests a mass lesion in that part of the brain.
This could to be a growth, or tumor.
It is difficult to comment on the type of lesion in the brain.
A MRI scan of the brain is required for better delineation of the mass lesion is required.

Thanks and take care
