Ultrasound Shows Bulky Ovaries, Multiple Follicular Cysts, PCOD Status. Meaning?

yes i have an ultra sound report and some of the terms are a bit too medical for me to understand i would appreciate if you can explain them to me both ovaries are marginally bulky, nodular, echogenic and show marked stromal hypertrophy . multiple tiny follicular cysts are seen in situ arranged in periphery(ball of strings appearance). average cyst size 5 to 7 mm. features are consistent with PCOD status

Here the report indicates that there are multiple cysts in both ovaries. Now what is the problem? In this Polycystic ovarian disease hormonal balance is lost which causes impaired ovulation. It gardually causes irregular periods and infertility. Also you will put on some extra weight and there may be presence of increased hair in body, formation of acne.
So, you have to do a total hormonal profile including FSH,LH, TSH and others and consult a gynaecologist for medication.
