Ultrasound Shows Lymph Nodes In Neck. Scared Of Throat Cancer
Hello doctor I noticed 1 month ago a lymph nodes in my neck and yesterday I had an ultra sound for the neck and the results came out with 2 lymph nodes in the right side each one is about 1.7 cm and the left side 1 lymph node about 1.5 cm the nodes are painless, soft, and moveable and I only feel them when I bend my head down and start touching the under jaw line is there anything to worry about , knowing that I'm a smoker and I'm scared of a chance of having a throat cancer , should I do the CT Scan although I'm very aware of the bad effect of this scan on the long term because of the radiation , so what do you suggest I'm really paranoid and confused
your problem indicates towards cervical lymph node enlargement (cervical lymphadenitis), it seems to be insignificant enlargement of neck nodes based on radiology. I presume that physician who prescribed you usg neck examined NOSE & throat thoroughly. Take a course of antibiotic and anti inflammatory for 10 days, stop smoking and repeat USG neck after 15 days of that if nodes still persist go for ulrasound guided FNAC (Cytology) of enlarged nodes
wish you an early recovery
