Unable To Remove Tampon And Causing Discomfort. Will It Come On Its Own?

My 20 year old daughter doesn t remember if she removed her tampon (small light day) but she thinks it is still in place but unable to remove it. it has been 24 hours and now she has small discomfort, because of the size can it come out on its own or will she need to see her Dr. Right away or can she wait til Monday to see her obgyn. what if any could the complications be? Thank you

Hi,
It will not come out on its own. You can take it out yourself with clean hands or wait till Monday to get it removed by a doctor. It is not an emergency unless its very painful or she gets a fever as its just 24 hours since she put it.
